And it only took eight months. TiVo announced in September 2010 it would be adding Hulu Plus to its Premiere DVRs and here it is. Hulu Plus joins Blockbuster, Amazon Instant Video, Netflix, and YouTube on TiVo's roster of streaming video services.

Having had a chance to test it out, the interface looks the same as it does on other devices and is easy enough to navigate. It takes about 30 seconds to load up and start searching through content. Speaking of search, TiVo's search doesn't seem to be connected to Hulu just yet. By that I mean if you search for "The Office" in TiVo's interface it will tell you it's available on Amazon and Netflix, but there's no mention of Hulu. Instead, you'll have to open up Hulu and start your search there.

On the upside, when you find something you want to watch video quality looks very nice. Too bad you have to sit through commercials on a service you're paying for.

To entice potential subscribers, Hulu is offering up six months free with a newly purchased Premiere, which will set you back a minimum of $99 plus $19.99 a month for one year. Otherwise, Hulu Plus is $7.99 a month to watch a bunch of TV shows you could just as easily record with your TiVo. Alright, that's not entirely true because Hulu has back seasons of classic shows, movies, and other video content. Besides, what's one more subscription fee anyway
