A look at the updates from some of the people and sites that CNET follows on Twitter.

Twitter is rolling out a new feature that lets you click on someone's "following" page and see the latest tweets from the folks that individual is following.

The update to Twitter's following pages is a major departure from the former functionality. Previously, when people would click on someone's following tab, they would see the usernames and biographical information of the people being followed. To satisfy those who prefer that functionality, the new following page has two tabs: the new, default "tweets" tab and a "people" tab. The latter will show only usernames and biographical details.

In addition, in the top-right corner of the following page, there is a two-arrow icon. By clicking that, a random followee's following page is brought up.

Two omissions in Twitter's new feature, by the way, are tweets from people who protect theirs and the tweets of the person whose followers are being viewed.

Twitter launched a major update to following pages in 2009. The company added a "List View" option and allowed people to perform previously unavailable actions from the page, including replying to others and sending direct messages.
